Which type of mic is better for cassette a sermonize?
Ideally a 'rifle' mic would be the best for the duty, might make your don nervous though...!
Unidirectional would be best from a distance because it would pick up smaller quantity extraneous noise. It would be courteous to ask your don if they minded being record, why don't you ask and then arrange to sit closer to the front of the class. Your laptop mic might do the mission in those circumstances, but if you use your baby grand, you're only going to hear typing...
It might be worth investing surrounded by a small digi-recorder, asking permission and departing it at the friont of the class to make the tape, then you can sit anywhere...

Get a digital voice recorder. They range from something like $20 - $500, depending on the features. The M-Audio Microtrack 24/96 is pretty cool if you have the money to achieve it. Otherwise, a cheaper digital recorder will do. If you're paying for school contained by college, you can record the sermonize.
