Why did my cotton-picking backspace quit working?

The grand piano is fine except that. Thank you.

Why did my cotton-picking backspace quit working?

Because you used it too much.
Well, I don't know what to tell you, but your quiz made me laugh. I hold to start using the expression "cotton-picking" more often!
You most predictable have something lodged underneath the key. If it's a desktop upright, the keys come sour real unforced. Just use a small screwdriver, a butter knife, something small that you can pry below one edge of the knob. Pry up and the key will pop right sour. Make sure there's nothing stuck underneath it. If you enjoy it, a can of compressed air is excellent for cleaning keyboards. If you don't hold any, get some.

If it's a laptop the ivories, the keys still come sour, though a bit more tricky. You have to take care and try to feel for the instrument it pries off. Only use a bit of force though, as the clips that hold the key in place can be slickly broken. They will either pry stale from the sides, or from the top/bottom. Again, be careful.
